Academic performance should not be the only yardstick for measuring your child’s success. 🎓

Although it can be an important indicator, cultivating a love for learning from an early age sets the foundation for children to continue succeeding even as curriculums become tougher or when motivation dries up. 😢

Years ago, I had the honour of having an interview with @straits_times on Home-based learning and @8worldnews 前线追踪 on the removal of Mid-year examinations. Both years affected my elder boy who was in in Primary 6 and my younger boy who was in Primary 5. As a parent and educator, i agree that that examinations are not the be-all and end-all and we, parents play a crucial role parents in providing a learning bridge between school and the home, while instilling in our children positive attitudes and values towards learning and life.
